North Greenbush Public Library Update

NORTH GREENBUSH – Upcoming events at the North Greenbush Public Library include the meeting of our online Virtual Book Club, discussing Jane Austen’s “Northanger Abbey,” on Monday, July 20, at 6:30 PM. Participants will also decide the book for August’s discussion. The meeting will be held via Zoom. For login information email: library@nullnorthgreenbushlibrary.org.

Need an email marketing campaign for your business but don’t know where to start? Join “Email Marketing with Mailchimp,” on Thursday, July 30, 7:00 PM, to learn how to design email marketing campaigns for your business, organization, or cause, using a free MailChimp account. This free, virtual, online class covers creating simple email campaigns, tracking your open rates, and generating a mailing list signup form for your website or Facebook Page. The class will connect using GoToMeeting. Email: library@nullnorthgreenbushlibrary.org to register. This class is provided by the Upper Hudson Library System, made possible through the Adult Literacy Grant of the New York State Education Department.

Summer Reading continues–so keep on reading and logging your books in ReadSquared! And parents–make sure your kids check out the “Missions” section in ReadSquared where we added extra activities that can help them earn additional raffle tickets. The next raffle drawing is July 21! We are currently open by appointment only, M/W/F between 10 AM and 2 PM; Tu/Th between 3 PM and 7 PM. Appointments are limited to 20 minutes to make copies, print, fax, or browse for items allowing only three patrons an hour in the library to accommodate social distancing, cleaning, and disinfecting. All patrons entering the library must wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth. Please call the library at 518-283-0303 to make an appointment. The library’s Grab ’N’ Go pick-up option will continue during this time.

Sand Lake Town Library News – Facebook Pages Class

SAND LAKE – SLTLibrary Board of Trustees Meeting, Thursday, July 16 at 6:45pm on the library lawn. We will be discussing reopening procedures and the new A/C units.

Facebook Pages for Business, offered Thursday, July 23 from 7pm to 9pm. Let Nathaniel Heyer teach you how to create a free online presence for your business, nonprofit, or organization. We’ll explore Facebook’s Pages feature, including setup, posting content, and understanding usage statistics. We’ll also discuss Facebook’s paid ad features and key social media marketing principles. This session will be held online via GoToMeeting. Contact the library to register. Skill Level: Intermediate

Patrons can now return to the library on a limited basis for browsing and checkout only. Appointments can be made for Mondays & Wednesday 11 – 3, Tuesdays & Thursdays 2 – 6 and Saturdays 10 – 2. There are limits to the number allowed in the building, so please call 518-674-5050 for an appointment.

Sidewalk pickup of materials continues for those who want it – simply place your requests online at catalog.uhls.org or by phone at 518-674-5050. You will get a notification when the materials are ready. Call us from the parking lot and we will bring your materials out to our sidewalk pickup table. Complete instructions can be found on our website (sandlaketownlibrary.org). We can also help with printing & copying – call or email for details.

Checked out materials can be returned at any time to our drop boxes in front of the library.
