North Chatham Free Library (NCFL) Hosts a Free Gathering of Book Lovers in the Library Back Garden
Join Fellow Bibliophiles on Wednesday, June 14 at 10 A.M.
Just in time to get ideas for summer reading, the North Chatham Free Library is hosting a free and open gathering of bibliophiles in its beautiful garden on Wednesday, June 14 at 10 A.M. In case of rain, the event will be held inside the library. At the conclusion, everyone will receive a list of books favored by others.
Participants should come prepared to recommend one or two favorite reads and briefly describe its plot and author and why the book is esteemed. Time will be allotted time for questions and answers about each book. This shared input will be a guide for your summer reading and/or provide suggestions for book clubs. Book submissions may be fiction or nonfiction.
Bring your own chair if you can, and should you wish, your own beverage. Cookies will be provided. There is a 12-participant limit to allow ample time for discussion; so register early to ensure inclusion and avoid disappointment. Registernorthchathamlibrary@nullgmail.com

Sand Lake Town Library Events
Ron Greenberg, one of our local artistic talents, has a photography display at the SLT Library through the end of June. Ron combines his love of travel with his love of photography and creates a wide-ranging display of locales, from nearby Washington County to far away Iceland. Be sure to stop in and enjoy this wonderful, colorful display.

EG Library Kicks Off Summer Reading with Illusionist Leon Etienne!
You’ve seen him on America’s Got Talent, Jimmy Fallon, and Penn & Teller: Fool Us! Illusionist Leon Etienne rocks venues around the world with his jaw-dropping, critically acclaimed hit show, Magic Rocks! On June 27 at 2 pm in the Genet Elementary School auditorium the East Greenbush Community Library will be kicking off its Summer Reading Program with a family-friendly event featuring the world’s best illusions, award-winning sleight of hand, and hilarious comedy, in an immersive experience that brings joy, laughter, and wonder when the world needs it most! The East Greenbush Community Library’s Summer Reading Program officially begins June 26 and runs through August 11, and you’re invited to come into the library to celebrate reading, nature, and exploration guided by this year’s theme, “Read Beyond the Beaten Path.” Participants of all ages can read books and complete the challenge activities for a chance to win fantastic prizes! You can expect storytimes and nature programs for the kids, and games and art for the teens. Adults can look forward to book clubs, concerts, and craft events, and there will be special performers for all ages! Families can join in the fun with our all-ages Bingo night, take part in our Tiny Art Show, and paint kindness rocks together to spread cheer throughout the community. Annual Book & Puzzle Sale, Nassau Free Library
Friends of N.F.L. Annual Book & Puzzle Sale – June 10, 2023
Do you have your SUMMER READING planned? Or are you in need of new material and maybe new puzzles? The Friends of the Nassau Free Library will hold their annual Spring Book and Puzzle Sale, Saturday, June 10th at the Nassau Free Library, 18 Church Street, Nassau, NY 12123. Hours for the sale will be Saturday 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM (bag sale at 1:00). Gently used Jigsaw puzzles will also be available on Saturday. Parking is in back or across the street in the church lot.
Beginning May 22nd donations of gently used books, both hard back and paperback and puzzles are being accepted at the library. The deadline for contributions is Saturday, June 3, 2023. No text books or encyclopedias and all deliveries should be during library hours. Complete puzzles in original boxes, please! Poestenkill Library/Clement Scholarship
The Poestenkill Library/Clement Scholarship of $1000 is available again this year for a 2023 high school graduate who is attending a two or four-year college in the Fall.
The student is asked to write a 500-word essay expressing their love of reading and mail it to the library at 9 Plank Rd Poestenkill, NY 12140, email it to info@nullpoestenkilllibrary.org or bring it directly to the library.
The deadline is 6/16/23. The candidate must be a Poestenkill resident but can attend any high school or be home schooled. Please put all pertinent information – name, address, phone #, and name of college on a separate sheet of paper so the winner can be picked solely on the content of the essay.
