AVERILL PARK – Hello Warrior fans! Averill Park had another huge week full of wins as the fall sports season carrys on.

The football team beat Queensbury 27-14 on 9/17, moving to 2-1 on the season. Queensbury started off the game with the first touchdown, taking a 7-0 lead, but Averill Park quickly jumped ahead in the second quarter with a rushing TD from Dan Milanese and a spectacular catch by Jack Adams from quarterback Gavin Giordano to put the Warriors ahead 14-7. Ryan Heffner had a clutch interception at the end of the second quarter in the endzone to keep the lead at seven going into the half. AP stayed hot, with toucdowns from both Giordano and Milanese to extend the lead to 27-7 and ultimetly bring home the win. The football team will look to move the win streak to 2 games on Friday 9/24 against Troy.

The boys soccer team defeated South Glens Falls on 9/13 with a 3-1 final score. Kyle Almeida scored twice while Carter Morse added the third goal in the winning effort. The boys moved to an impressive 5-0, beating Troy 2-0 on 9/18. Kyle Almeida scored twice, the first goal a header off a corner assisted by Hayden Kiehl, and the second one coming off an assist from Mason Buttaci. The soccer team hopes to remain undefeated in their next match against Shenendehowa on 9/23.

The girls soccer team shutout Troy 6-0 on 9/18. Ally Bendett led the team with 2 goals while Bailey Ouimet, Madison Locci, Mary Bryant, and Macenzie Slattery all scored in the win. The soccer team will travel to Shenendehowa on 9/23 for their next game.

The volleyball team defeated Lansingburgh 25-14, 25-11, 25-13 on 9/16. Molly Eaton had 5 kills and 5 blocks. Olivia Kronau had 10 service points, 3 aces and 13 assists and Bella Mahar had 7 kills for the Warriors. The volleyball team will face Shenendehowa in their next game on 9/23.

The boys cross country team came in first place at the Queensbury-Adirondack invitational on 9/18. Colin Brunelle came in second place out of 125 runners, followed by Evan Sweet in seventh place and Jacob Hanlon in ninth place. The cross country team will travel to South Glens Falls on 9/25 for their next meet.

The girls tennis team took down Troy 9-0 on 9/18. Singles winners were Nicole Wing, Sydney Ferguson, Gwen Jamison, Dayna Densmore, Dani Lapier, and Avery Kittleson. Doubles winners were Lilly Vrsalovic & Libby Bulmer, Ella Lindheimer & Lilli Vanderkar, and Zara Cole & Sophia Maddalone. The tennis team will travel to shaker for their next match on 9/27.

The Troy-AP girls swim meet lost their home opener to Bethlehem 63-31. The swim team will take     Shenendehowa in their next meet on 9/27.
